NSPCC Number Day

Today children wore clothing with either numbers, spots or stripes on to raise money for the NSPCC. All classes enjoyed doing lots of fun, curriculum based Maths challenges here in school.

KS2 – Who Let the Gods Out

Children in Year 5 have been reading the book ‘Who Let the Gods Out?’. Linked to this storyline they received gems in their class but these went missing! They have been very busy interviewing members of staff trying to solve where these have gone….

Luck Lane Primary – Year 3 Rugby

Year 3 welcomed the Huddersfield Giants Rugby Club coaches into school this week. These coaches will work with Year 3 until February half term, teaching them Rugby skills and how to work as a team.

Playground Adventures

Whilst wearing their winter coats and woolly hats children enjoyed catching, tasting and feeling the texture of the snow flakes which fell this week.

KS1 News – Meerkat Mail

Children in Year 2 have been reading the book Meerkat Mail. As part of this they had a special visitor in class, Sunny the Meerkat! They enjoyed writing letters about this and showing Sunny around school.

EYFS Learning Together Project

This week Reception and their parents made a shopping list of what they would like to buy at the shops. Once they had made their lists they took these to the Co-op and purchased their items. They brought the fruit back to school and shared this with the other children.

KS2 News – Welly Walk

This week whilst exploring the outdoors children in Year 6 took part in a Welly Walk.

Whilst searching for different animals and objects they worked on their team building skills, learning how to build dens and use their imagination to  create and retell stories.
